Chris & Woogie Take Up The Fraser Island Challenge

Eugene 'Woogie' Marsh and Chris de Aboitiz are starting their challenge to Stand Up Paddle all around Fraser Island to raise funds. The article is from Fridays edition of Noosa News!

Phil Jarrat explains about the event:

Starting Sunday, November 25, I'll be away for a week working on a fantastic project and a great adventure. As support crew for the John Madill Toyota Fraser Island Stand Up Paddle Challenge (presented by Golden Breed), we'll be tracking stand up paddle surfers Chris de Aboitiz and Woogie Te Manu Marsh as they attempt to become the first paddlers to circumnavigate Fraser Island, the world's largest sand island. This marathon effort is more than 300 kilometers - that's a Molakai race every day for minimum six days! And every kilometer they paddle represents another chance for a disabled person to share the stoke that we all know as surfers.

We were all very moved by Nick Carroll's fantastic effort earlier this year when he raised more than $10K for the Disabled Surfers Association of Australia by competing in the Molakai Race. Now we're asking for your help in establishing a branch of the DSA on Queensland's Sunshine Coast. A fantastic group of volunteers has already been put together by Ian and Sharon Felsinger, but in order to give disabled people in this region a real opportunity to make their spirits soar, we need to raise more than $20K to supply aquatic wheelchairs, shade tents and soft surfboards.

Please help us stand up for the disabled! The DSA is doing a fantastic job and with your help they can do even better. Back Chris and Woogie to go the distance and make a little piece of stand up paddle history.
